Graph Analysis.

For my questionnaire I decided to target 15-17 years old's as this is my age group and I thought it would be easier collecting results this way as I would know what sites people of this age group would use.

'How much would you be willing to pay for a college magazine?'
As you can see from my results '50p-£1.00' was the most popular choice. This may link in with my question 'Do you have a job' because 11 out of the 22 people I asked said 'no'. People may not be able to afford a music magazine higher than this price as they haven't got extra money free. The lowest option choice was above '£3.00' this could also link in with people not having enough money.

'What colours do you think would work well on a college magazine?' 'white', 'black', 'red' and 'purple' were the most popular options I thought this was most likely to be because they are all quite bold colours, they are also the most common colours on magazines so people are able to familiarise with them. 'Orange','pink', 'green', 'yellow', 'grey' and 'blue' were all near enough equal these options are the basic colours so if I was to go ahead and choose the colours that were most popular I wouldn't choice any of the least popular colours as these are not the colours my target audience are like. Instead if I were to use them I would choose just one of the least favourite colour options for a cover line of maybe use them in the contents page at a later date.

'Which of the following would you like to see in a music magazine?' My most popular answer was 'interviews with band members' so for this I would introduce a coverline stating 'Interview with' (and then state the band member I would wish to interview. I would also include a list of the 'UK top 40' in each issue of fresh singles as this was the second most popular option. My third option I would include are 'posters' are that was my third most popular choice. If I was to include another options into my magazine I would either pick one of the other options at random or take another questionnaire with fewer options.

'What do you prefer listening to music to?' My most popular answer for this question was 'Mp3's/ipods'. I asked this question so that if i was to include 'competitions' into my magazine I would be able to have itunes vouchers as one of the prizes as I know my target audience mainly listens to music through mp3's or ipods. This also helps me to write reviews on them as products and any newer versions coming out.

'What gender are you?' out of the 22 people I asked I decided to ask 11 female and 10 males. If i was to do this again i would make sure that i asked 11 female and 11 male so that so my questionnaire would have be equal. Also i would then be able to target My magazine and male and female as i know what they are into.

'How many hours of music do you listen to a day?' My most popular answer for this question was '4-7' hours a day. This told me that the majority of a 15-17 years old day is spent listening to music. This helped me to understand if iw as to produce a music magazine that my target audience would be interested in it because they listen to '4-7' hours of music a day.

'Whats you're favourite music magazine and why?' The majority of the people I asked said that they 'don't read any' so this result made me think if a music magazine would be popular baring in mind the answer i had just received. It was hard for me to be able to work out if it would be popular because as I had previously stated in my 'How many hours of music a day do you listen to?' the answer was quite high so I thought that my target audience may have been interested in it. I then decided to go by the second most popular answer which was 'NME' this proved to me that my target audience had heard of a few music magazine titles. regarding my results I would read some 'NME' magazines for some inspiration on the kind of things they include and incorporate it into my magazine.

'Do you play an instrument?' if so please comment what you play' I decided to include this question because I could then feature the most popular instrument in my magazine, unfortunately the most popular answer was 'I don't play anything' so I was unable to go by my most popular answer. I then decided to go by my second most popular option this was 'yes, piano' so I decided I would have an article on this option.

'Do you have a job?' For this question 11 out of the 22 people I asked said 'yes' and the other 11 said 'no' so my answers for this were equal. This links in with the first question as I have previously mentioned.

'Whats you're favourite type of music?' for this 'RnB' was my most popular option so I decided that I would include this genre of music as it was my most popular answer. I decided I would have a coverline of this featuring on the front of my magazine also. My second most popular option was 'Rap' so i decided i would also have an article on this and 'rock', which was my third most popular answer.
